Adapted from Devdas by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, this movie has been made many times. But the Shah Rukh Khan version is everyone’s favorite! The emotions, the drama, and the love triangle… just wow!
2. Guide
This one is from The Guide by R.K. Narayan. Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman made magic on screen. It’s a story about love, betrayal, and finding yourself.
3. 2 States
Based on Chetan Bhagat’s 2 States, this movie was all about Desi love stories and family drama. Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor were perfect!
4. Kai Po Che!
Another Chetan Bhagat book, The 3 Mistakes of My Life, gave us Kai Po Che!. It’s about friendship, dreams, and heartbreak. Sushant Singh Rajput was so good in this one!
5. Maqbool
Shakespeare’s Macbeth in Bollywood style! With actors like Irrfan Khan and Tabu, this movie was dark and intense.
6. Haider
Another Shakespeare adaptation, this time of Hamlet. Shahid Kapoor gave one of his best performances in this one. The Kashmir backdrop made it even more special.
7. Parineeta
From Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s book Parineeta, this movie gave us Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan in a beautiful love story. The songs were also super hit!

8. Lootera
Based on The Last Leaf by O. Henry, this movie starred Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. The movie was slow but beautiful. It’s like a painting in motion!

This one came from Calling Sehmat by Harinder Sikka. Alia Bhatt played a spy, and she nailed it! This patriotic thriller kept everyone hooked.
10. Pinjar
Based on Amrita Pritam’s novel Pinjar, this movie showed the pain of Partition. Urmila Matondkar’s performance was unforgettable.
