Shah Rukh Khan has just made an exciting announcement about his next film. He revealed, “My next film is ‘King.’ We’re about to start working on it. I need to lose some weight and do a bit of stretching for the movie.”
In this film, Shah Rukh Khan will be sharing the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan, marking their first-ever collaboration. For a long time, there were speculations that Shah Rukh Khan would work with his daughter Suhana in a film titled ‘King,’ and now, fans can rejoice as the news is absolutely true. The actor confirmed this during the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where he was honored with the Pardo Alla Carriera Award for his contributions to cinema. During the event, Shah Rukh also made some interesting revelations about his upcoming movie.
In a conversation with Artistic Director Giona A. Nazzaro, Shah Rukh shared the backstory of how he signed ‘King.’ He said, “Last year, I completed ‘Jawan’ and ‘Dunki.’ Now, I wanted to do a specific kind of film, maybe something age-centric or something I’ve been trying to do for the last seven years. One day, I discussed this with Sujoy Ghosh in my office. He said, ‘Yes, sir, I have a subject.'”

Discussing his film selection process, Shah Rukh explained, “It’s simple. I feel like working in a particular genre—be it comedy, courtroom drama, or social issues—so I put it out there. I meet some people. Some have the subject I’m interested in, so I listen to their stories, spend time with them, and then we move forward and make the film.”

Shah Rukh also mentioned the physical preparation required for ‘King,’ saying, “I need to lose some weight and do some stretching to avoid back pain during stunts. It’s painful and exhausting. I have two bags full of icing machines. The worst thing to see on set is me after action scenes. Even though I might look cool in the movie, afterward, I’m all tied up with someone massaging my back. Walking becomes difficult for me. Then suddenly, I see people and blow them a flying kiss.”

Speaking of the movie ‘King,’ Suhana Khan will also be a part of it, making it their first collaboration together. Suhana made her acting debut with the film ‘The Archies,’ but it didn’t create a big impact. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh’s last film ‘Dunki’ was a massive success. Shah Rukh Khan’s previous three films—Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki—each crossed the 300 crore mark, cementing his status as a box office king.
